Scheduled
We will be performing a major maintenance on Monday, April 22nd beginning at 3am Eastern/12am Pacific time. We are moving the core of our phone system from a shared server infrastructure to a private infrastructure. This new infrastructure resides in the same East, Central, and West datacenters and has the same level of redundancy as our current system, with the key distinction that these new servers will be exclusively for SimpleVoIP traffic.

Why?

A shared infrastructure allows each of its tenants to impact the resources available to the other tenants. For example, if one tenant of a system saturates a shared network link, that link becomes unusable for the other tenants. Providers attempt to minimize these risks, but the risks are inherent in the model. Our new private infrastructure will remove those risks, providing an increase in stability.
New monitoring capabilities will allow us to roll out proactive alerts when the system detects call quality degradation, whether at the cluster level or at your individual sites. We will also have a greater degree of control over the scheduling of upgrades and system maintenance.

What is the expected impact?

Some services will be unavailable at times during the maintenance window: phone service may experience brief interruptions, while some non-vital services such as our customer portal might be disrupted a bit longer. All functionality will be restored by the end of the maintenance window.

What do SimpleVoIP customers need to do?

Nothing, unless we individually tell you otherwise. Phones should register to their new clusters with no user interaction, and our other services will all be accessible after the maintenance in the same way as before.
